Recently Rev Arthur Young, Rector of Tullylish Parish Church and Martin Montgomery, Youth Pastor of Seapatrick Parish Church undertook to cycle around the Diocese of Down and Dromore in a week to fundraise for two charities.

Together we cycled 430 miles from Lurgan to Kilkeel; Newcastle to Bangor (via the Ards Peninsula); Belfast to Drumbo and back into Banbridge taking in over 120 churches on the way. Over £3000 was raised for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice and the Seapatrick Parish Church Spire fund!

Without your generous support we would definitely have found the journey a lot harder to complete, and we would certainly not have made it onto the front page of the Banbridge Chronicle. Knowing we had raised so much certainly gave us a tremendous incentive to carry on when the journey was tough, and encouraged us to push on to the finish line.

We (Arthur and Martin) were welcomed back into Banbridge on Sunday night (8th) by the Bishop of Down and Dromore, the Rt Rev. Harold Miller at a special Church Service to mark the event.

We are very proud of our achievement in cycling for a week and visiting every Church, however we are deeply humbled by the support of so many people who donated money towards us and our fundraising efforts.

So knowing we have completed the cycle, having counted up all the money and having spent a week recovering from the great week it was, we sincerely thank wish to THANK YOU for choosing to get behind us because together we have made a substantial difference to the charities we cycled for.
